Aspiring To Be An Anti-Racist Institution

Because equity and inclusion are central to our students’ liberal education and vital to the thriving of all members of our residential learning community, Beloit College aspires to be an actively anti-racist institution.

An actively anti-racist institution:

  • Recognizes that this aspiration is ongoing and ever-changing
  • Endeavors to provide all members of the community with equal opportunity to be successful, regardless of their racial or other identities
  • Interrogates the historical and structural imbalances that contribute to the different ways in which individuals with different identities experience the institution, and acts upon those findings
  • Understands that racist incidents can still occur despite our aspirations, and require timely and transparent response.
